Of course, it's no easy task especially for Omega Force, a developer at Koei who is given the blessing by them to work at this title. The idea of an action hack n' slash game was originally going to be its own separate thing, a new original IP if you will but in the end, it was realized as a spin-off of one of Koei's strategy games at that time sharing the same name as the novel it was based on, Romance of the Three Kingdom due to the use of Chinese historical figures and the fact that everyone at Koei is a really big fan of the novel.īut the story doesn't end just there, with the booming of 3D fighting games like Virtua Fighter and Soul Blade (later turning into Soul Calibur) Koei and of course, other companies want a piece of that cake.
